The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g., names, email addresses, etc.).
Regarding the collection of general information when visiting our website
Nature and purpose of processing:
When you use this website, various types of personal data are collected. Personal data is data that can be used to personally identify you.
Please note that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., when communicating via email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. It is not possible to completely protect data from access by third parties.
We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your identity. Information of this kind is generally evaluated statistically by our external service provider (host) in an anonymized form, if necessary, to optimize our website and the underlying technology.
Legal basis and legitimate interest:
The use of the hosting provider is for the purpose of fulfilling our contractual obligations to our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Recipients:
The recipients of the data may include technical service providers who act as data processors for the operation and maintenance of our website.
Our hosting provider will process your data only to the extent necessary to fulfill its service obligations and will follow our instructions regarding this data.
To ensure that data is processed in compliance with data protection regulations, we have entered into a data processing agreement with our hosting provider.
Retention period:
Unless a more specific retention period is stated, your personal data will be retained until the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies. If you submit a valid request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing your personal data (e.g., retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion will occur once these grounds no longer apply.
Provision required or necessary:
The provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without the IP address, the service and functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed. In addition, individual features and services may be unavailable or limited. For this reason, an objection is not possible.
SSL/TLS Encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock icon in your browser bar.
General inquiries:
Inquiries via email, phone, or fax:
If you contact us via email, phone, or fax, your inquiry – including all personal data contained therein (name, inquiry) – will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We will not disclose this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries directed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if such consent was requested.
The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
Notice Regarding Data Transfer to the U.S. and Other Third Countries
We use, among other things, tools and services (such as email) from companies based in the U.S. or other third countries that do not provide a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third countries and processed there. Please note that these countries cannot guarantee a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU. For example, U.S. companies are required to disclose personal data to security authorities without you, as the data subject, being able to take legal action against this. It cannot therefore be ruled out that U.S. authorities (e.g., intelligence agencies) may process, analyze, and permanently store your data located on U.S. servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence over these processing activities.
For applicants
Handling of applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply for a position with us (e.g., by email, mail, or via our online application form). Below, we provide information regarding the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and all other legal provisions, and that your data will be treated as strictly confidential.
Scope and purpose of data collection
When you submit an application to us, we process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is Section 26 of the BDSG-neu under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general contract initiation) and – provided you have given your consent – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be revoked at any time. Your personal data will be shared within our company exclusively with persons involved in processing your application.
If your application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of Section 26 of the BDSG-neu and Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.
Data retention period
If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer, or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months from the conclusion of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). Thereafter, the data will be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. Retention serves, in particular, for evidentiary purposes in the event of a legal dispute. If it becomes apparent that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g., due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will not take place until the purpose for continued retention no longer applies.
Data may also be retained for a longer period if you have provided your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
Inclusion in the Applicant Pool
If we do not offer you a position, there may be the option to include you in our applicant pool. If you are included, all documents and information from your application will be transferred to the applicant pool so that we can contact you in the event of suitable vacancies.
Inclusion in the applicant pool is based solely on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Providing consent is voluntary and is unrelated to the current application process. The data subject may withdraw their consent at any time. In this case, the data in the applicant pool will be permanently deleted unless there are legal grounds for retaining it.
The data in the applicant pool will be permanently deleted no later than two years after consent is given.

Recipients / Disclosure of Data
Within our company, those departments or organizational units that require your data to process and implement our legitimate interest will have access to it.

Retention Period
Your data will be automatically deleted/destroyed after 4 weeks.
Data may be stored for a longer period on a case-by-case basis if there are grounds to believe that the data is needed for other purposes. This includes, for example, the prosecution of criminal offenses or the assertion of civil claims.
For online meetings, teleconferences, and webinars hosted by Pet-Trade Produktion GmbH & Co. KG via “Microsoft Teams”
Purpose of processing
We use the “Microsoft Teams” tool to conduct teleconferences, online meetings, video conferences, and/or webinars (hereinafter: “online meetings”). “Microsoft Teams” is a service provided by Microsoft Corporation.
What data is processed?
When using “Microsoft Teams,” various types of data are processed. The scope of the data also depends on what information you provide before or during your participation in an “online meeting.”
The following personal data is subject to processing:
• User information: e.g., display name, email address (if applicable), profile picture (optional), preferred language
• Meeting metadata: e.g., date, time, meeting ID, phone numbers, location
• Text, audio, and video data: You may have the option to use the chat function during an “online meeting.” In this regard, the text you enter is processed to display it in the “online meeting.” To enable video display and audio playback, data from your device’s microphone and any video camera on the device will be processed accordingly for the duration of the meeting. You can turn off or mute the camera or microphone yourself at any time via the “Microsoft Teams” application.
Scope of Processing
We use “Microsoft Teams” to conduct “online meetings.” If we intend to record “online meetings,” we will inform you of this transparently in advance and – where necessary – request your consent.
Chat content is logged when using Microsoft Teams. We store chat content for a period of up to three months. If it is necessary for the purpose of documenting the results of an online meeting, we will log the chat content. However, this will generally not be the case.
Automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR is not used.
Legal Basis for Data Processing
To the extent that personal data of employees of the controller is processed, § 26 BDSG serves as the legal basis for such processing. If, in connection with the use of “Microsoft Teams,” personal data is not necessary for the establishment, implementation, or termination of the employment relationship, but is nonetheless an essential component of the use of “Microsoft Teams,” then Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR is the legal basis for data processing. In these cases, our interest lies in the effective conduct of “online meetings.”
Furthermore, the legal basis for data processing in connection with the conduct of “online meetings” is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, provided that the meetings are held within the framework of contractual relationships.
If no contractual relationship exists, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Here, too, our interest lies in the effective conduct of “online meetings.”
Recipients / Disclosure of Data
Personal data processed in connection with participation in “Online Meetings” is generally not disclosed to third parties, unless it is specifically intended for disclosure. Please note that, as with in-person meetings, content from “Online Meetings” is often intended specifically to communicate information to customers, prospects, or third parties and is therefore intended for disclosure.
Other recipients: The provider of “Microsoft Teams” necessarily gains access to the aforementioned data to the extent provided for in our data processing agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses with “Microsoft Teams.”
You may exercise the following rights at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer using the contact information provided:
If you have given us your consent, you may revoke it at any time with future effect.
Right to File a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority
You may file a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time, such as the competent supervisory authority in the state where you reside or the authority responsible for us as the data controller.
A list of supervisory authorities (for the private sector) with addresses can be found on the BfDI website.
We generally delete personal data when there is no longer a need to retain it. A need may exist, in particular, if the data is still required to fulfill contractual obligations or to assess, grant, or defend against warranty and, where applicable, guarantee claims. In the case of statutory retention obligations, deletion is only considered after the respective retention period has expired.
Right to object on a case-by-case basis
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (data processing based on a balancing of interests); this also applies to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Article 4(4) of the GDPR.
If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
